You can see from the phenomenon how difficult it was to find a PS5 in previous years. Sony even extended the PlayStation 4's production time to patch up the PS5's supply shortage. It took until this year for Sony to state its flaws, and clearly, that's no joke.
This success shows that the Nintendo Switch has finally found its match. Sony's latest console has never beaten the Switch in Japan, not even close. Last year, the PS5 was far behind the Switch with total sales of 942,798 and 5.3 million units respectively.
Even so, game sales statistics, Nintendo Switch is still number one in Japan. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe topped sales at 189,031 units in Japan in February, while Hogwarts Legacy (available on PS5 and Xbox only) was the best-selling non-Nintendo title at 126,086 units sold.
